IE vulnerability gets emergency patch

Earlier this month and after the normal patch Tuesday, Microsoft released an emergency update to Internet Explorer that they also said was being exploited in the wild. The vulnerability allows a malicious web site to execute code of their choice on your machine in the context of the currently logged in user.
Strangely the update is not available through normal update channels yet.
The good news is that if you use Edge which has this icon: and not IE which has this icon: then you are safe from this exploit. Other browsers like Firefox and Chrome are not vulnerable.
If you normally do use IE, please remove it from your shortcuts for now to eliminate the possibility of you using it, and use Edge instead for now while we figure out how to roll out updates. If you have a requirement for using IE please let me know and we can manually update your machine.
Each version of Windows 10 is a different update which complicates the update process. Hopefully Microsoft will add it to Windows update soon so this can be done automatically.
